NIS2 Management Training
Every member of the management body must follow cybersecurity training themselves (Article 20(2) NIS2, Section 38(3) BSIG). This free online course is one such training, with a certificate of completion at the end.
For managing directors and board members
The training duty falls on the management body of every entity covered by NIS2: each person appointed by law, articles or partnership agreement to run and represent the company, such as the managing directors of a German GmbH or the board of an AG (Section 2 no. 13 BSIG). The duty is personal. If someone else takes the course for you, you are not trained.
What training NIS2 requires
Article 20(2) NIS2 and Section 38(3) BSIG name three aims: identify and assess risks, assess risk-management practices, and judge their impact on the services your company provides. Neither sets a minimum duration or requires a certified provider. This course covers all three aims across 6 modules:
Why is this free?
The duty reaches the management body of every covered entity, and the knowledge it needs should not depend on hiring a consultant. That is why the course content is open under CC BY 4.0.
This course and its certificate stay free, as do the wiki and self-hosting: the same source code (AGPL-3.0) on your own servers. The NIS 2 walkthrough on nisd2.eu, which guides you step by step through implementation, costs €4,800 net a year.
Voices from practitioners
“Echt viel Inhalt und gut strukturiert. Man sieht gleich, dass viel Arbeit und Herzblut reingeflossen ist. Von Marktführern habe ich Checklisten bekommen, die nicht mal die Mail wert sind, mit der sie gesendet wurden.”
“War sehr super. Würde jederzeit empfehlen.”
